Galaxy Note Touchscreen Response Problems
-
Device cases and screen covers can cause the Galaxy Note's touchscreen not to pick up all or any of your movements. Try removing any case or screen cover and then see if you're still experiencing the same problems.
- Try washing your hands to remove excessive dirt or oils on your hands, also clean the screen to remove any dirt or debris from the screen. Try using the device to see if your problem is resolved.
- You may be experiencing some sort of software problem as a result of a recenter app you installed or other software glitch. Restart the Galaxy Note to see if that resolves your problem. Restarting the device clears the device's temporary memory, which is often the source of sudden problems that arise.
- Try updating the firmware on your Galaxy Note. You can see if an update is available by tapping the "Application" icon on your device's home screen, then tapping "Settings," "Software Update" and then "Check for Updates." You'll be notified whether an update is available or not.

Galaxy Note Frozen
If the Galaxy Note is on but not responding to your touch at all or not responding when you press any buttons, try holding down the "Power" button for at least 15 seconds to force the device to shutdown and reboot automatically. This forces all running programs to shut down and clears the device's temporary memory. If you're still having problems with freezing after forcing the device to shutdown and restart, back up your device and then restore it to the factory settings to see if that resolves your problem. You can begin the factory reset process by navigating to "Applications," "Settings" and then "Factory Reset."

Galaxy Note Reception Problems
- Make sure you're not obstructing the Galaxy Note's built-in antenna, as this can lead to reception problems such as dropped calls and calls that cut out frequently. The built-in antenna is located on the top-right corner on the back of the device. Avoid placing your hand over this region and make sure that area is exposed as much as possible for the best possible signal.
- You may just be in an area with poor reception, such as inside a building. Some buildings are very bad about blocking cellular signals. Try moving outside the building and see if that helps. If that does help, consider contacting the owner of the building about installing a booster for cellular service.

Galaxy Note Battery Problems
- If the battery icon on the device's home screen is flashing, you need to plug the device in as soon as possible to charge it, as you only have a few minutes of battery life left.
- If the battery turns off randomly or takes a longer charging time to achieve a full battery, remove the battery and wipe down the battery bay with a silk cloth to remove any dirt and debris from within the bay that could be preventing the Galaxy Note from operating or charging correctly.
- If you don't feel the battery is holding a charge for as long as it should and you've exhausted options for extending the battery life, such as closing apps you're not using, dimming the brightness, disabling Wi-Fi and more, consider replacing the battery, as the Galaxy Note's battery does hold less of a charge over the course of time.
Galaxy Note Gets Hot
Some applications require more power to run than other applications, which can cause your device to heat up and become warm. This is not a problem for short periods of time, however, if your Galaxy Note feels hot for more than an hour, consider shutting the device down to prevent the internal components from melting, which can cause problems with your device.
Problems Opening Music Files on Galaxy Note
- You may be trying to play a file on your Galaxy Note that the device doesn't support. Check the list of supported files for your specific version of the device.
- The music file you loaded may be a protected file that isn't capable of being played on your device.
- The music file may be damaged. Try playing the file on your computer to see if it doesn't play correctly from there. If it does play correctly, try reloading the file to your device.
